Do you guys remember when we were kids and random, creative ideas came out of our imaginations like fountains? Why can't it still be like that? I know, for me at least, writer's block comes nearly every time I have to write something. Playing pretend as a child is pretty much the same thing as creating a whole different life. When we were younger, ideas came more freely to us than they do now because of a very simple reason. As we grow older, we think more rationally.
School, parents, and anything else that influenced us in any way has stuffed reason into our brains, and that reason has taken over our imagination. Some people have reason that only takes over a small part of their imagination while others have lost their creativity completely. We think that just because it isn't something rational or something that can even be considered possible, we can't let our brains wander there. Thinking rationally is most definately not a bad thing at all, but every once in a while, you need to also use your imagination and not just let it rot in a corner in the back of your brain. Excercising your creativity can also be healthy for you. It relaxes you and lets you escape from the harsh realities of the real world for even just a little bit. You have the opportunity to get a break from everything that you have to deal with daily; it's just up to you whether you want to take it or not.
What if we could go back to our childhood minds and just let our imaginations soar to wherever and think about whatever? Would that make our lives much more simpler, or would the exact opposite happen and it turns out to complicate our lives even more? I'm not sure, but thinking back on my childhood, my life was so much easier then. There was barely any drama, I didn't have to worry about so many things, and I was able to just go through life happy practically living inside of my mind. As I grew older, though, I started to neglect my creativity and let my imagination crawl into the corner of depression in my mind. So, as of now, I am going to try and use my imagination and just let my mind soar to a world where I can just relax.
