I think something needs to be said about the show, The Legend of Korra, which if you don't know, is the sequel series to the amazing Avatar The Last Airbender (not the one with the blue people). If I had to choose one animated kids show as proof that children's television hasn't gone down the wastebasket, I would without a doubt choose The Legend of Korra; its amazing art style and applicable themes make it a must watch for the whole family.
However, something stood out to me while watching the newest episode of Korra today. It was something that Iroh, your typical wise old asian man said, "If you look for the light, you can often find it. But if you look for the dark, that is all you will ever see." Like Korra, our emotions definitely have an effect on others and how we see the world, but sometimes, we underestimate how much being positive can help others. Likewise, we also fail to see how our negativity can bring everyone around us down as well.
It's not easy always being positive, though. I'm sure we all have our bad days, and our tough times, and it's probably pretty difficult to even try to smile during those times. Well, Iroh has something to say about that too, "Sometimes the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else." If you can't show positivity in one way, find another way! There are many words, as well as actions that can bring light to those around you, so don't be afraid if you can't smile that day! Carry someone's stuff, or help someone with their homework (this does not mean letting them copy off you).
Remember, how you feel and what you do matters. Give a little light to others, and you'll be given some light as well. You have the power to make the sun shine.
I am a really easy going person, and it doesn't really take much to make me happy. When i go on twitter and see a lot of the people that I follow have suicidal thoughts, it saddens me. I cannot understand the pain that they are experiencing, but the only thing I can do is realize how many people love them... much more than they realize. It really warms my heart to see so many people coming together to try to save one person; most of us don't even know each other in real life, but it really warms my heart to see so many people giving up their time to save someone's life. It never hurts to spread positivity. The best part is, doing something like that makes both you and the other individual feel better.

Positively definitely is never a bad thing! It's the little things that matter to those people, a smile or just acknowledging their existence goes a long way!
